This is a poetry that I wrote shortly  after my Maa’s(my paternal grandma’s) death……back when I was in FG 7.Maa passed away on the 7^th of January 1999 and all of us siblings and our parents still feel an empty space that can be filled up by noone….With this poetry I have tried to pay tribute to Maa…..She was a petite woman with a volcano of talent..Having hardly completed her primary education she was a wonderful poetess ,who wrote in bengali,oriya as well as hindi…Whatever  writing abilities and interests in literature and literary work I have, is an inheritance from her….

                 So this ones for one of the most beautiful women I have known in life who has had a great influence on me-my Maa……Maa this ones for you…………

TO MAA……..

Maa dear

Dear Maa

You left us-

And went away from this world

Without saying-

Where You are going

But I know-

You must be happy

And I am grateful to God

He has delivered You

From all the worldly woes

To take You to the kingdom

Of joy

I know God invited You

To be with Him

For Your  soul  was so pure

Well,how do You feel

Enraptured with joy

Away from earthly desire

I wish-

You could come in my dreams

To be with me

To share the joy

I wish-

I could see You everyday

For You are the one

I always loved

And truly cared………….
